In today’s world we are bombarded with messages about what it means to be good looking, acceptable or successful. Many of us are leading extremely busy lives, trying to juggle career, family and meeting the expenses of life and living. Especially for women, self-care often ends at the bottom of the to do list.

In my years of working as a Counselor specializing in Emotional Eating and Addictions, I have been able to witness a similar scenario over and over again.

Instead of being able to take time out to deal with emotional stress and the tension carried in the body, stress is soothed with a quick fix… such as food.

When eating has become a way to soothe oneself… the body frequently responds with weight gain. This can activate a cycle of dieting, low self-esteem, poor body image and frustration. When hormonal changes are added into the mix, the moments of feeling sexy, joyful and happy become less and less frequent.

Drawing from my own experience and extensive training in Body Mind Psychotherapy, I help clients heal their relationship with food, unhealthy attachments, and their bodies.

It is my hope and desire that this blog site can become a platform of support, encouragement and inspiration to those struggling with issues connected to Emotional Eating.

In service,

Ina Stockhausen
